Two songs among many that meet the criteria (it’s pointless to rank them, so don’t call these the best or favourites). My activity is on a rowing machine, so hitting a good cadence while sustainsing power matters a lot. These help.
Will be scheduling a long sauna session to throw this one on. The variability in music was entertaining to read but I especially enjoyed the rationale section.
Amazing community you’ve built with N2L. Great idea and outcome!
It was fascinating to read the choices. I was scared to put it all in one mix to be honest — like it might chemically implode — but after listening, I realized that like a lot of things in life, it turns out that our differences actually have commonalities.
Praise the Lord by Breland. I’m not a church goer or country music fan but this song makes me smile and tap to the beat and crank it up every time. Just fun.
Late to the game here but “Welcome to Planet Motherfucker” by White Zombie is good for when it gets hard and “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by Iron Maiden just because it’s badass.
This is a wonderful idea for a playlist. I find my suggestions are best experienced when in the car alone -- unless your passengers can tolerate the steering-wheel guitar playing bound to occur. I always am a fan of My Sharona by The Knack - has good energy, and an intricate guitar riff that I really have always thought was underrated. The other suggestion would be "(Only a) Summer Love" by REO Speedwagon, but it must be the version from the "Live: You Get What You Play For" album. I really like the way the music builds as the song unfolds along with Gary Richrath's guitar lead.
I'm a big fan of the steering-wheel guitar playing. We should do a mashup video of us all doing our musical thing in our cars. Thanks for these selections. Adding them to the list.
You'll need to click on the link under Post above that says "On Spotify" or "On Apple." You'll need an account with one of those to access the full list of songs, which I'll keep adding to as more of these suggestions come in. Thanks for reading.
"Lose Yourself" is on my pre-race "Get Pumped" playlist that you have definitely seen me jamming to while getting ready for a Spartan race.
"Hail to the King" by Avenged Sevenfold is my theme/walkup song (also on said playlist).
"Cryin' Like A Bitch" by Godsmack is one of my favorite grind it out in the gym tunes.
I generally don't listen to music when I run, though I do occasionally allow myself podcasts during my base building runs. Tunes are usually playing in the gym though. 😎
“Promentory” from “The Last of The Mohicans” soundtrack is guaranteed to get you through the end of a hard run.
“Bolt Cutters & The Family Name” by Larkin Poe kicks hard. They also do one of the best covers of “Black Betty” out there. (Come to think of it, their catalogue is a giant workout playlist.)
Ok good to know I’m not the only person who doesn’t listen to music when I workout! But this is an otherwise solid playlist. Top Gun anthem is inspired!
Cool - glad to hear. I go back and forth between music, podcasts and no music. When I'm alone in the woods running, it's definitely about "no music" and just hearing everything around me. Including maybe that bear coming at me...:)
It has some good reminders (I can laugh until I cry or cry until I laugh so cut the deck right in half, I’ll play from either side). I strangely find it motivating. 🙃

“Rain in the Summertime” by the Alarm
“The Whole of the Moon” by the Waterboys
Fantastic. Don't know these either. This list is getting better and better. Thanks Michael.
Rain in the Summertime is a lost classic...great pick!
Love everything about this Wendy.

❤️
Three that get me through…Blue on Black (Five Finger Death Punch), Raise Hell (Dorothy), and Come With Me Now (KONGOS)
Thanks for the contributions!
Shine by Mondo Cozmo. Not to give anything away from the Reacher Season 3 finale, but this song was perfect.
Can't wait to watch.
Gotta say the Rina Sawayama cover of Enter Sandman is phenomenal! I actually like it better than Metallica’s.
Cool - will check it out.
Praise the Lord by Breland. I’m not a church goer or country music fan but this song makes me smile and tap to the beat and crank it up every time. Just fun.
Thank you. Will add it! And I am a country music fan...:)

Not too late to the game! This is an ongoing list. Will add your picks. Thanks for participating Rich.
Ok, I'll promote Belgian music here.
The way to your heart - Soulsister
Bernaar - junkyardpool
Now we're talking. That will definitely break the 'cycle of sameness' for my listening routine. Thanks!

How bout AC/DC It’s a Long Way To The Top?
Metaphorical. I like it. Thanks.
How do I pull up this playlist?

Good to know what my male spirit animal Spartan race pal is jamming on. Thank you! Hope you have a great race season.

3 more interesting ones. I might have heard Promentory before, but not 100% sure. Adding them. Thank you.
Wendy:
This is easy: Ripple by The Grateful Dead, the most relaxing song out there.
Chip L
You and Michael Easter are right in synch. I'll tee it up Chip. See you on the ruck route.

I Take My Chances by Mary Chapin Carpenter
It has some good reminders (I can laugh until I cry or cry until I laugh so cut the deck right in half, I’ll play from either side). I strangely find it motivating. 🙃
Great one. I love that song. Will add to the list and call this out in future newsletter. Thanks.
Crazy by Lost Frequencies and Zonderling. Not quite a run through the wall, amp me up song, but I find it inspirational.
Love this because I don't know it. Will listen and add. Thanks for the suggestion.
